Also known in Sudan as Karkade, hibiscus flower grown in considered one of the best among the world. Most of the hibiscus farming takes place in Kordofan and Darfur. There are three types of hibiscus available which are dry flower, sifting and powder.
MAIN APPLICATION FOR HIBISCUS:

- The young leaves are sometimes used as a spinach substitute
- In East Africa it is taken to relieve coughs
